Introducing the Louis Vuitton Game On Collection
Nicolas Ghesquière presented his Cruise 2021 collection earlier this year with much less of a fanfare than those familiar with the storied French design house have come to expect. Because of the times, Ghesquière was able to reset, and he used his time in quarantine to create a paired down collection, focusing on the everyday elements of fashion versus the more editorial looks the brand is known for. The collection was presented in a series of snapshots at the Louis Vuitton studio in Paris and today we're getting a closer look at the Game On Collection in brand new campaign images featuring French actress Lea Seydoux.
Both the Petite Malle and Vanity PM are classic choices, while the geometric Square bag in white leather with a gold chain detail is an effortlessly cool and unique alternative choice. And if you're a lover of the classics, the Speedy bag is the one for you (though the collection does feature other LV icons such as the Keepall and Neverfull). However, the stand out design, is the brand's new Monogram Heart bag, called the Coeur ($2,100), which is the brand's first-ever bag of its kind.
A play on fashion as a game, the cruise 2021 collection sparks a creative feel, featuring a fun iteration of the brand's iconic monogram canvas in an extraordinary new way. Introduced on iconic bags from the house such as the Dauphine, Capucines and Petite Malle, this collection infuses LV monogram with the classic details of playing cards. Clubs, spades, diamonds and of course, hearts, are featured on a black or white background with bold colors of bright blue and poppy red. A tiny heart stands in place of the House's signature blossom.
A collection unlike that of any other, details in this collection are meant to play off of (no pun intended) the House's renowned trunk-making heritage. The Game On Collection is already available in selected Louis Vuitton boutiques worldwide and on Louis Vuitton.com. Bag prices range from $2,170 for a Neverfull MM to $5,650 for a Petite Malle.
